Have you ever wondered what was going on when you go through spells of forgetfulness, being clumsy, fuzzy headed? Try getting grounded! Imagine yourself as a hugh tree, fell how strong and sturdy you are. See your roots going deep into the earth and wrapping around the core. See if this helps you come out of that undesirable stage and move into a more solid feeling of well being!

Well, I finished walking the Indy 500 Mini-Marathon on Saturday. It was 13.1 miles and took me around 3 1/2 hours to complete. There were over 35,000 runner/walkers in the largest mini in the country. Being a part of such a large event was awsome! The weather was perfect, the entertainment was always entertaining and the people along the route were inspiring!
The best part was of course, finishing. I had been training for 8 months for this race. I was not in shape at all when I started. I've always been the athletic type but never have really been in shape in my whole life! Since having the kids and not working outside the home, my muscle tone has deteriorated. Having a friend invite me to participate in the race gave me a good reason to finally get in shape, something I've wanted to do for a long time. Even though my husband and kids were hours away at my son's mountain bike race, I was so proud of myself for my accomplishment! I did it for me!
What goals are you willing to set for yourself? What changes have you been wanting to make?

What is Wellness? To me it's living a lifestyle that supports my mental, physical and spiritual health. Moving towards a healthy diet, movement, spiritual growth and fulfillment. Having a job that supports my strengths, that inspires me and energizes me. Living out my passion either through work, play or volunteering. Always striving to grow to be more of my ideal person. To live a life that when I'm 100, I can look back and be pleased with. What is wellness to you?

With all the Genetically Modified foods on the market , the use of hydrogenated oils, high-fructose corn syrup and the processing, preserving and adding of dyes, water and no telling what else, it's becoming more and more important to know where your food is coming from. It's so satisfying to go to the farmers market or local farm to pick up produce and meats that are from animals that are treated humanly and fed the food they are supposed to eat. I feel like I'm doing the right thing when I make those choices. And they often have a very competetive price. I started making small changes in our diet and kept going. One thing I do is just be more conscious of my choices. Asking what effect is this having on the eco-system, where did this come from, how was it grown. It's actually becoming fun to seek out healthier choices. What are your experiences with this?
